Deuteronomy - Chapter 15

1 At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a release.

2 And this is the manner [the ordinance] of the release: Every creditor that lendeth ought unto his neighbour shall release it [thou shalt remit every private debt which thy neighbour owes thee]; he shall not exact it [ask payment of it] of his neighbour, or of his brother; because it is called the LORD’s release [a release to the Lord thy God].

3 Of a foreigner thou mayest exact it again, whatsoever he has of thine: but that which is thine with thy brother thine hand shall release [thou shalt remit his debt to thee];

4 Save when [For(thus)] there shall be no poor among you; for the LORD thy God shall greatly bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it:

5 Only if thou carefully hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all these commandments, as many as which I command thee this day.

6 For the LORD thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign [rule] over many nations, but they shall not reign [rule] over thee.

7 If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates [thy cities] in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother who is in want:

8 But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth.

9 Beware that there be not a thought [a secret thing] in thy wicked heart, an iniquity, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him nought; and he cry unto the LORD against thee, and it be great sin unto thee.

10 Thou shalt surely give him, and thou shalt lend him as much as he wants, according as he is in need; and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto.

11 For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee to do this thing, saying, Thou shalt surely open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy [to him that is distressed], in thy land.

12 And if thy brother, an Hebrew man, or an Hebrew woman, be sold unto thee, and serve thee six years; then in the seventh year thou shalt let him go free from thee.

13 And when thou sendest him out free from thee, thou shalt not let him go away empty:

14 Thou shalt furnish him liberally provision for the way out of thy flock, and out of thy floor, and out of thy winepress: of that wherewith the LORD thy God hath blessed thee thou shalt give unto him.

15 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee from thence: therefore I command thee this thing to day.

16 And it shall be, if he say unto thee, I will not go away from thee; because he loveth thee and thine house, because he is well with thee;

17 Then thou shalt take an aul, and thrust it through his ear unto the door, and he shall be thy servant for ever. And also unto thy maidservant thou shalt do likewise.

18 It shall not seem hard unto thee, when thou sendest him away free from thee; for he hath been worth a double hired servant to thee, in serving thee six years [according to the annual hire of a hireling]: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all that thou doest.

19 All the firstling males that come of thy herd and of thy flock thou shalt sanctify unto the LORD thy God: thou shalt do no work with the firstling of thy bullock, nor shear the firstling of thy sheep.

20 Thou shalt eat it before the LORD thy God year by year in the place which the LORD shall choose, thou and thy household.

21 And if there be any blemish therein, as if it be lame, or blind, or have any ill blemish, thou shalt not sacrifice it unto the LORD thy God.

22 Thou shalt eat it within thy gates: the unclean and the clean person shall eat it alike, as the roebuck, and as the hart.

23 Only thou shalt not eat the blood thereof; thou shalt pour it upon the ground as water.

Numbers - Chapter 15

1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land of your habitations, which I give unto you,

3 And will make an offering by fire unto the LORD, a whole-burnt offering, or a sacrifice [a meat-offering] in performing a vow, or in a freewill offering, or in your solemn feasts, to make a sweet savour unto the LORD, of the herd, or of the flock:

4 Then shall he that offereth his offering unto the LORD bring a meat offering of a tenth deal of an ephah of fine flour mingled with the fourth part of an hin of oil.

5 And the fourth part of an hin of wine for a drink offering shalt thou prepare with the whole-burnt offering or sacrifice [or on the meat-offering], for one lamb thou shalt offer so much, as a sacrifice, a smell of sweet savour to the Lord.

6 Or for a ram, when ye offer it as a whole-burnt-offering or as a sacrifice, thou shalt prepare for a meat offering two tenth deals of fine flour mingled with the third part of an hin of oil.

7 And for a drink offering thou shalt offer the third part of an hin of wine, for a smell of sweet savour unto the LORD.

8 And when thou preparest a bullock from the herd for a whole-burnt offering, or for a sacrifice in performing a vow, or peace offerings unto the LORD:

9 Then shall he bring with a bullock [the calf] a meat offering of three tenth deals of flour mingled with half an hin of oil.

10 And thou shalt bring for a drink offering half an hin of wine, for an offering made by fire, a smell of a sweet savour unto the LORD.

11 Thus shall it be done for one bullock [one calf], or for one ram, or for a lamb, or a kid.

12 According to the number that ye shall prepare [offer], so shall ye do to every one according to their number.

13 All that are born of the country shall do these things after this manner, in offering an offering made by fire, for a smell of a sweet savour unto the LORD.

14 And if a stranger sojourn with you in your land, or whosoever be among you in your generations, and will offer an offering made by fire [a sacrifice], smell of a sweet savour unto the LORD; as ye do, so he shall do [so the (whole) congregation shall offer to the Lord].

15 One ordinance shall be both for you of the congregation, and also for the stranger that sojourneth with you, an ordinance for ever in your generations: as ye are, so shall the stranger be before the LORD.

16 One law and one manner [ordinance] shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you.

17 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

18 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land whither I bring you,

19 Then it shall be, that, when ye eat of the bread of the land, ye shall offer up an heave offering [wave-offering], a special offering unto the LORD, the first-fruits of your dough.

20 Ye shall offer up a cake of the first of your dough for an heave offering: as ye do the heave offering of the threshingfloor, so shall ye heave it.

21 Of the first of your dough ye shall give unto the LORD an heave offering in your generations.

22 And if ye have erred [transgress], and not observed all these commandments, which the LORD hath spoken unto Moses,

23 Even all that the LORD hath commanded you by the hand of Moses, from the day that the LORD commanded Moses [appointed you], and henceforward among your generations;

24 Then it shall be, if ought be committed by ignorance without the knowledge of the congregation, that all the congregation shall offer one young bullock without blemish for a whole-burnt offering, for a sweet savour unto the LORD, with his meat offering, and his drink offering, according to the manner [to the ordinance], and one kid of the goats for a sin offering.

25 And the priest shall make an atonement for all the congregation of the children of Israel, and it shall be forgiven them; for it is ignorance [it is involuntary]: and they shall bring their offering, a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD, and their sin offering before the LORD, for their ignorance [for their involuntary sins]:

26 And it shall be forgiven as respects all the congregation of the children of Israel, and the stranger that sojourneth among them; seeing all the people were in ignorance.

27 And if any soul sin through ignorance [unwillingly], then he shall bring a she goat of the first year for a sin offering.

28 And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sinneth ignorantly [that committed the trespass unwillingly], when he sinneth by ignorance before the LORD, to make an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him.

29 Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance [shall commit a trespass unwillingly], both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them.

30 But the soul that doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the LORD [he will provoke God]; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

31 Because he hath despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity [sin] shall be upon him.

32 And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day.

33 And they that found him gathering sticks on the sabbath-day brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation of the children of Israel.

34 And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him.

35 And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp.

36 And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and all the congregation stoned him with stones outside the camp, and he died; as the LORD commanded Moses.

37 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

38 Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband [a lace] of blue:

39 And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart [after your imaginations] and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring:

40 That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.

41 I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD your God.

Leviticus - Chapter 15

1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying,

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When any man hath a running issue out of his flesh, because of his issue he is unclean [his issue is unclean].

3 And this shall be his uncleanness in his issue [the law of his uncleanness]: whether his flesh run with his issue, or his flesh be stopped from his issue, it is his uncleanness. Whoever has a gonorrhoea out of his body, this is his uncleanness in him by reason of the issue, by which, his body is affected through the issue: all the days of the issue of his body, by which his body is affected through the issue, there is his uncleanness.

4 Every bed, whereon he lieth that hath the issue, is unclean: and every thing, whereon he sitteth, shall be unclean.

5 And whosoever toucheth his bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

6 And he that sitteth on any thing whereon he sat that hath the issue shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

7 And he that toucheth the flesh of him that hath the issue shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

8 And if he that hath the issue spit upon him that is clean; then he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

9 And what saddle soever he rideth upon that hath the issue shall be unclean till evening.

10 And whosoever toucheth any thing that was under him shall be unclean until the even: and he that beareth any of those things shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

11 And whomsoever he toucheth that hath the issue, and hath not rinsed his hands in water, he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

12 And the vessel of earth, that he toucheth which hath the issue, shall be broken: and every vessel of wood shall be rinsed in water, and shall be clean.

13 And when he that hath an issue is cleansed of his issue; then he shall number to himself seven days for his cleansing, and wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in running water, and shall be clean.

14 And on the eighth day he shall take to him two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, and come before the LORD unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation [of witness], and give them unto the priest:

15 And the priest shall offer them, the one for a sin offering, and the other for a whole-burnt offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for him before the LORD for his issue.

16 And if any man’s seed of copulation go out from him, then he shall wash all his flesh in water, and be unclean until the even.

17 And every garment, and every skin, whereon is the seed of copulation, shall be washed with water, and be unclean until the even.

18 The woman also with whom man shall lie with seed of copulation, they shall both bathe themselves in water, and be unclean until the even.

19 And if a woman have an issue, and her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even.

20 And every thing that she lieth upon in her separation shall be unclean: every thing also that she sitteth upon shall be unclean.

21 And whosoever toucheth her bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

22 And whosoever toucheth any thing that she sat upon shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

23 And if it be while she is on her bed, or on any thing whereon she sitteth, when he toucheth it [when he touches her], he shall be unclean until the even.

24 And if any man lie with her at all, and her flowers [her uncleanness] be upon him, he shall be unclean seven days; and all the bed whereon he lieth shall be unclean.

25 And if a woman have an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation, or if it run beyond the time of her separation; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation: she shall be unclean.

26 Every bed whereon she lieth all the days of her issue shall be unto her as the bed of her separation: and whatsoever she sitteth upon shall be unclean, as the uncleanness of her separation.

27 And whosoever toucheth those things shall be unclean, and shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

28 But if she be cleansed of her issue, then she shall number to herself seven days, and after that she shall be esteemed clean.

29 And on the eighth day she shall take unto her two turtles, or two young pigeons, and bring them unto the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation [of witness].

30 And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a whole-burnt offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for her before the LORD for the issue of her uncleanness.

31 Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness [to beware of their uncleannesses]; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is among them.

32 This is the law of him that hath an issue, and of him whose seed of copulation goeth from him, and is defiled therewith;

33 And of her that is sick of her flowers [that has the issue of blood in her separation], and of him that hath an issue of seed, in his issue, of the man, and of the woman, and of him that lieth with her that is unclean.

Exodus - Chapter 15

1 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing [Let us sing] unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously [he is very greatly glorified]: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

2 The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation [he was to me a helper and protector for salvation]: he [this] is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation [glorify him]; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

3 The LORD is a man of war [The Lord bringing wars to nought]: the LORD is his name.

4 Pharaoh’s chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen mounted captains also are drowned in the Red sea.

5 The depths have covered them [He covered them with the sea]: they sank into the bottom as a stone.

6 Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.

7 And in the greatness of thine excellency [the abundance of thy glory] thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee [thou hast broken the adversaries to pieces]: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as stubble.

8 And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together [by the breath of thine anger the water parted asunder], the floods stood upright as an heap [the waters were congealed as a wall], and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.

9 The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them [I will satisfy my soul]; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them [I will destroy with my sword, my hand shall have dominion].

10 Thou didst blow with [sentest forth] thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters.

11 Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises [marvellous in glories], doing wonders?

12 Thou stretchedst out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them.

13 Thou in thy mercy [thy righteousness] hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation [resting-place].

14 The people shall hear, and be afraid [The nations heard and were angry]: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina.

15 Then the dukes [princes] of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab hasted, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away.

16 Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over, which thou hast purchased.

17 Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O Lord, which thy hands have established.

18 The LORD shall reign for ever and ever.

19 For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea.

20 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.

21 And Miriam answered them, led them, saying, Sing ye [Let us sing] to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously [he has been very greatly glorified]; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

22 So Moses brought the children of Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water to drink.

23 And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah, Bitterness.

24 And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?

25 And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them [him] a statute and an ordinance [and judgments], and there he proved them [him],

26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD God that healeth thee.

27 And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.

Genesis - Chapter 15

1 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. [I shield thee, thy reward shall be very great].

2 And Abram said, Master [and] Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house, the son of Masek my home-born female slave, is this Eliezer of Damascus?

3 And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.

4 And, behold, immediately the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.

5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.

6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

7 And he said unto him, I am God, the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.

8 And he said, Master [and] Lord GOD, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?

9 And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.

10 And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not.

11 And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, upon the divided parts of them, Abram drove them away.

12 And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep, a trance, fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.

13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them and humble them four hundred years;

14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.

15 And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried nourished in a good old age.

16 But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full, even until now.

17 And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, there was a flame, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.

18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given [I will give] this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

19 The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites,

20 And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims,

21 And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Evites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.
